I was also lucky to have attended the Shacho TV Summit at Doshisha University in Kyoto on November 3, 2007. It was a great chance to hear the words of both business leaders and scholars on the topic of leadership. Not only the success stories but the risks and challenges of leaving stable positions in big companies to go out and start businesses on their own. Their stories varied but a common thread was that they all wanted pursue the opportunity and challenge of fullfilling the unmet needs of the consumer. The message that I took away from the Summit was that even though running your own business is risky and challenging, the rewards of knowing that you are doing something that is very beneficial to your customer and are making a difference is compensation that money can't replace.

I do not know when or where the next event will be but I will be checking Shacho TV periodically for information on the next Shacho TV summit and maybe I will see you there.
